I recently stepped back into the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom for the past 15 years. At my job interview, I acknowledged my lack of technical skills, but assured the business owner I was eager to learn and was determined to be an exceptional employee. During our initial meeting, it was clear to me the owner of Grant Payroll Inc, Linsey, was a payroll expert who was passionate about serving small business owners. Linsey’s entrepreneurial spirit and confidence in her ability to mentor me made it easy to say YES when I was offered a job as a Junior Payroll Analyst.
Here are a few things I have learned:
- A trustworthy payroll processor is important.
- The details matter.
- Just because you can process your own payroll doesn’t mean you should process it.
Whether you are new to the workforce and feeling a bit overwhelmed, a small business owner who needs a little guidance, or an employer who needs to outsource payroll responsibilities, I hope I can share some helpful insights.
